Futebol de mulheres em perspectiva global: representações, instituições e poder (1965-1973)

Este artigo tem como objetivo analisar a dinâmica do futebol praticado por mulheres entre 1965 e 1973 a partir de uma perspectiva global, tendo em vista a proibição explícita da modalidade no Brasil em 1965 e na URSS em 1973, além dos primeiros campeonatos mundiais realizados na Itália em 1970 e no México em 1971. O futebol de mulheres foi proibido no Brasil e na URSS tendo como aparato principal o discurso da medicina. No entanto, nesse mesmo período o esporte se desenvolveu significativamente na Europa. Além disso, a FIFA recomendou às federações que assumissem o comando do futebol feminino, com o intuito de se reafirmar enquanto entidade máxima do futebol mundial e não permitir seu uso mercadológico e empresarial. A ideia é compreender esses acontecimentos sob um ponto de vista global, levando em conta os contatos e as trocas culturais, tendo como principal base teórica as reflexões do historiador Sebastian Conrad.

This article aims to analyze the dynamics of soccer played by women between 1965 and 1973 from a global perspective, in view of the explicit prohibition of the sport in Brazil in 1965 and in the USSR in 1973, in addition to the first world championships held in Italy in 1970 and in Mexico in 1971. Women’s soccer was banned in Brazil and the USSR with the main discourse of medicine. However, in that same period the sport developed significantly in Europe. In addition, FIFA recommended that the federations assume the command of women’s football, with the aim of reasserting themselves as the highest entity in world football and not allowing its use in marketing and business. The idea is to understand these events from a global point of view, taking into account cultural contacts and exchanges, having as main theoretical basis the reflections of the historian Sebastian Conrad.
